New! Claim Attachments Feature in Availity Starts in November

Provider feedback from last year’s satisfaction survey is helping us to make Availity Essentials enhancements that are critical in the daily work of provider offices. The option to add claim attachments, the second of six enhancements for 2024, launches in November.

The ability to submit your claim attachments online through Availity provides several advantages:

  • No need to fax or mail attachments
  • Less need to call provider customer service
  • Time-saving administrative experience for your staff

Claim attachment criteria:

  • Premera supports the following file types:  .pdf, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .tif, .tiff, .txt, .csv, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx and .html
  • The attachment file name can’t contain special characters except for “spaces” and “_” or “-“
  • The attachment size limit is 10 mb per attachment up to 50 mb.

Note: Attachments needed to process claims supported by our vendors (eviCore, Carelon, CERIS, etc.) need to be sent directly to the vendor.

Reminder: Only submit an attachment through Availity when Premera requests additional information to process your claim or a claim is denied for lack of information.
