New Video Helps Members Find a Doctor

Helping our members find a doctor is a big part of member satisfaction at Premera. That’s why we just introduced a new video that shows how to best use our provider directory. Watch the three-minute video.

Help our members find you

You can help our members most easily choose a provider in Find a Doctor by updating your provider directory information. You’re encouraged to add things like languages spoken, if you’re accepting new patients, and your specialties and interests. To add your photo and bio, use the online Premera photo/bio form. To update your office information, use this Premera provider update form.

Comply with federal No Surprises Act requirements
The federal No Surprises Act requires health plans to verify all provider directory data every 90 days and remove unverified providers from their directories. Premera uses the BetterDoctor online portal from Quest Analytics to verify provider directory information.

Providers will be removed from the directory if they haven’t responded to our outreach in the previous 180 days. We’ll be removing non-responsive, unverified providers on a recurring basis.

Here are 4 things you need to know about directory verification:

  1. You need to respond to all requests from BetterDoctor to verify information. BetterDoctor may contact you by fax, mail, email, and/or telephone to request a review once a quarter.
  2. If you’re removed from our directory, contact BetterDoctor to restore your listing. You can email or call 844-668-2543, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific Time.
  3. As soon as your data is verified, we can add you back into the directory.
  4. For additional Premera directory questions, call provider customer service at 877-342-5258, option 1, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.
