Members Receive In-Home Test Kits
Premera Blue Cross, in partnership with the vendor Let’s Get Checked, launched the annual In-Home Test Kit program in late April. This program is designed to improve health outcomes for members by eliminating access as a barrier to colorectal cancer screening and A1c testing.
Eligible members received opt-in invitations for Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) kits and/or A1c test kits in early May. Members must follow the instructions in the opt-in invitation to receive a kit.
We added a new feature this year to improve the member experience. The Member Order portal launches in June and will allow members to order their kits directly through a secure online portal. The portal will also allow members to track their kit through lab processing and access their results. Members with a current email or mobile phone number on file will receive an email or text message with a link to the order portal.
- Member eligibility is based on clinical gaps in care (using clinical HEDIS eligibility based on claims).
- Test kits are mailed directly to members’ homes.
- Automated reminder calls and emails will encourage members to return their kit.
- Members collect the sample and return them to the lab using a self-addressed envelope.
- Results are sent to the member and their provider (if applicable).
