Expanded Coverage Coming Soon for Hearing Aids

Essential health benefit for hearing aids changes January 1, 2026. The update follows Washington state Senate Bill (SB) 5262. It applies to Premera Blue Cross members covered under eligible health plans in Washington state.

What’s Changing

The benefit includes all parts, attachments, and accessories for hearing aids.

• There’s no dollar limit on hearing aids.
• A prescription is needed.
• One hearing aid per ear is covered every three years.
• Coverage applies to eligible health plans.
