Air Ambulance Patient Transportation

In certain situations, air ambulance transportation is critical when other forms of medical transport aren’t available or not an option.

In these situations, remember to:

• Review Premera Ambulance and Medical Transport Services medical policy,10.01.512 to make certain the use of air ambulance is appropriate.
• Make sure the receiving facility is the nearest medical facility equipped to treat the patient.
• When possible and appropriate, check Premera’s directory or contact Customer Service using the phone number on the member’s ID card to verify which air ambulance providers are in-network.
