Coming Soon: Multi-Patient Submission Enhancement in Eligibility and Benefits

To support more efficient workflows, Premera is introducing a new enhancement to the eligibility and benefits experience in Availity Essentials. 

What’s coming? 

A new multi-patient tab will allow provider offices to submit eligibility inquiries for several patients in a single request – up to 50 patients per submission.  

This enhancement is designed to reduce repetitive data entry and streamline eligibility verification for high-volume workflows. 

What to expect 

While the submission experience will become more efficient, the underlying process remains the same: 

• Each patient inquiry will continue to be processed individually and in real time.  

• There are no changes to how eligibility responses are generated or returned. 

Why this matters 

This enhancement helps provider offices: 

• Save time by entering multiple patients at once 

• Reduce duplicate data entry 

• Improve efficiency during high-volume eligibility checks 

The new multi-patient tab will soon be available to providers through Availity.
