Assigned Primary Care Gets Patients Started

When patients don’t engage with primary care, they’re more likely to miss preventive care and delay treatment for ongoing conditions. Primary care provider (PCP) designation gives our members a clear starting point.

About 30,000 Premera Blue Cross members were recently assigned a PCP based on certain criteria:

• An existing or past in-network PCP relationship
• How close the provider is to the member’s home
• Whether the provider is accepting new patients
