January 1, 2026, marks a new health plan year for many Premera Blue Cross members. It’s an ideal time to verify insurance coverage for your patients. Our updated member ID cards will look a bit different in 2026.

Why it Matters

Member ID cards may change for other Blue Cross Blue Shield members in Washington state. Premera has several types of health plans, and the ID cards vary by plan.

Use These Tips

• Ask patients for their health plan and network name in the upper left corner.
• Look for the medical network listed in the upper right corner.
• Make sure there’s a suitcase icon at the bottom right corner.
