Doctor Romilla Batra Joins Premera

We’re pleased to share that Dr. Romilla Batra has joined Premera Blue Cross and Premera Blue Cross HMO as senior vice president and chief medical officer (CMO). She’ll lead the Clinical Strategy and Solutions team and oversee the development of our overall clinical strategy. Her role is a key part of fulfilling our vision of delivering affordable access to quality care for your patients. She’ll also partner across our teams to integrate our capabilities and enhance the provider experience.

Dr. Batra joins us from SCAN Health Plan, a national not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan based in California. She spent nearly nine years there as CMO where she was accountable for SCAN’s overall clinical strategy and operations to improve overall patient experience and clinical outcomes. She provided oversight for value-based programs, clinical teams, pharmacy programs, Stars initiatives, community-based efforts, and SCAN’s provider performance improvement strategy. Before that, she ran primary care clinics at University of California Irvine and Indiana University.
