Protect Your Patients’ Information
December 7, 2023
Prior authorization requests must only include clinical documentation for one member. We have recently seen an increase in requests containing multiple members’ information. This can result in a Personal Protected Information (PPI) breach. All authorizations including information for multiple members are voided and must be resubmitted.
Please verify that all prior authorization requests match only one member. When we receive documentation for multiple members in a single request, it causes:
- Extra work for the provider office
- Increased need for Premera clinical team resources
- A less than ideal member experience due to delayed authorizations
Submitting accurate authorization requests protects member information and helps make healthcare work better. If you have any questions about this process, please contact your Premera provider representative.
